Sarah is an AFL and cricket writer for the sports website, The Roar. She has written 45 articles and received over 130,000 views since she began writing for The Roar in mid 2014.

Sarah was an integral part of The Roar's coverage of the 2015 Cricket World Cup, live blogging six matches.

​General News and Sport 

June 2015 - July 2015   

 

Sarah spent six weeks at 7 News in June/July – three weeks in the sports team and three weeks in general news. Sarah was given the responsibility of interviewing AFL coaches and players, as well as writing up VOs, while interning in sport. Sarah was able to put together football packages, which helped fine-tune her editing skills.

 

While in general news, Sarah spent several days at court, including the inquest into Darcey Freeman’s death. She was also sent out by herself several times to get grabs and vox pops for reporters’ packages.

 

Sarah will be returning to 7 News as a casual intern throughout her second and final semester at RMIT. 

 

 

The Conversation

August 2014 - October 2014 

 

Sarah interned at The Conversation for three months in 2014 on the Business + Economy desk, where she worked on several series, including: "The Future of Transport" and "Personality at Work".

 

During this time, Sarah was social media coordinator for the website and was responsible for posting stories on Facebook and Twitter.

 

Sarah was an integral part of the team that covered the death of Gough Whitlam.

​Sarah is currently studying the Graduate Diploma in Journalism at RMIT. 

 

Sarah was an integral part of the team that covered the news on Channel 31 for two weeks, anchoring one night and reading the sport on another. 

She has also produced and read the RRR midday news.

Monash University 

​2009 - 2014

 

Sarah majored in International Studies and Politics in her Bachelor of Arts, studying a vast array of subjects that included: fundamentalism, religion, Asian studies, American politics and Renaissance history.

Sarah enjoyed and excelled in criminal law, advocacy and the rules of evidence while studying law at Monash. She studied one semester abroad in Florence in 2012.
